Pack 3286 Celebrates 50 Years Minimize

The year was 1958. Dwight D Eisenhower was the 34th president of the United States. NASA had just been created to compete head-to-head with the Soviet Union in the space race. Gunsmoke was the most popular program in this still new medium called television and the New York Yankees won their 18th world series title.

Cub Scouting was celebrating it's 25th anniversary.

In November of 1958, the Nall Hills Homes Association chartered Cub Scout Pack 3286 in the growing suburban city of Overland Park, Ks.

Fast-forward now to November 2008. Cub Scouting celebrates it's 75th anniversary. Pack 3286 celebrates 50 years as a thriving scout unit.

We had a wonderful 50th anniversary celebration! Former pack CubMasters, leaders and scouts attended the event. Each former CubMaster was invited to speak and tell us about the years when they were with the pack. The former district executive that formed the pack attended and recounted the early days of Pack 3286. The Mic-o-say dancers performed an amazing extended program in which many of the leaders and scouts also participated. We thank all who planned, executed and joined in our celebration and look forward to the next 50 years.
